Phlebotomy Technician Program 

The Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Program includes learning the techniques of collecting blood specimens by venipuncture, orders of draw, basic patient customer service skills, and accurate recording of specimens. The Phlebotomy Training Program includes theory and quality hands-on laboratory instruction in our skills lab in preparation for the national phlebotomy technician certification exam and employment as a certified phlebotomy technician. The program will teach students the concepts of working with infectious specimens, Introduction to Phlebotomy & Infection Control, Legal Issues in Healthcare, Introduction to Human Anatomy & Physiology, Phlebotomy Equipment and Supplies, Phlebotomy Procedures, and Phlebotomy Fundamental Essentials. 

Various tasks phlebotomy technicians may perform include:

• Drawing blood from patients and blood donors

• Evaluating patients' ability to withstand the procedure and helping them feel comfortable

• Explaining blood-drawing procedure to patients and answering questions

• Performing basic point-of-care testing, such as reading blood glucose levels

Course Information

• Duration: 60 total clock hours 

• 2-week class (Meets Monday - Friday)

• 3- week class (Meets Monday - Friday)

• 6-week class (Meets Tuesday / Thursday)

• Day class hours: 

• Monday - Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm

• Tuesday / Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm

• Evening class hours:

• Monday - Friday 5:00pm - 9:00pm

• Tuesday / Thursday 4:00pm - 9:00pm

• Registration fee (non-refundable): $85

• Tuition Cost: $700

• Must be at least 17 years or older

• Must have a valid Driver’s License or Photo ID

• Provide a copy of your High School Diploma or GED certificate

• TB Skin Test (must be current and within the past year)

• All phlebotomy laboratory and practice kit fees

• Student Malpractice Insurance

• TB Skin Test if needed

• Background check 

• One set of solid black scrubs

National Certification Exam Information

• Upon completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from New Path Health Career Center and you will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association's (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician, CPT exam in our facility. 

• The cost to take the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)  Exam is $129.  This fee is not included in your program tuition.

Registration Information

Registration can be completed via online by clicking enroll now or walk-in registration is accepted during our regular business hours, Monday-Thursday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, Friday 8:30am - 2:00pm. 

Submit payment of the non-refundable $85 registration fee which reserves your seat in the class. Enrollment will not be processed without the registration fee. Once your information has been processed, you will receive a welcome email packet confirmation reserving your seat in the class.​
